Easter Morning stroll in Panajachel
Our travel day was without delay and we arrived in Panajachel was without delay.
The festival Semana Santa was in full swing when we arrived and went long into the night
But we all were able to rest In spite of the music coming from the street festival
David started us out with Easter devotions followed by a moving song by Don Francisco "He's Alive" . Tom and Max joined us for a wonderful breakfast before we head to Chichicastenango for the market and Easter services.
The sounds, smells, and sights are invigorating.
More to come later today

Welcome to the blog for the Spring 2013 Mission Guatemala trip
Zionsville United Methodist Church
Those traveling with our group are team members
David, Linda, Megan, Deck, Patty, Kay, Kathie and Jill
Three of us are new this trip and 5 are returning to Mission Guatemala to continue their mission work.
Megan set up this blog to allow us to share our experience.
One of our unique experiences will be the celebration of Easter in another culture. We all are looking forward to what cultural differences we will see in the celebration of our risen Lord. As someone said to me "the language might be different, but the story is the same". He Lives!
We are very excited for the opportunities we will have to work with Tom Heaton and the mission staff to bring the joy of Christ to everyone we meet. During our study preparation, we learned not to have expectations, extend grace to all, listen and observe their culture, and to look for Jesus in those we serve.
Updates will be forthcoming as we start our journey. Come along with us via our blog and experience a little bit of Mission Guatemala with us.
